In 2025, the Government of Quebec announced its intention to renew the Government Policy on Adult Education and Continuing Education and Training to replace the previous version, which dated back to 2002. To kick off this process, the government launched a series of consultations with stakeholders in mid-June of this year to examine the main issues and current challenges and to identify the key components of the new policy. The consultations focused on four themes:
The Provincial Employment Roundtable (PERT) participated in these consultations torepresent the interests of Quebec’s English-speaking community and discuss these issues. Other stakeholders joined us, including representatives from English-language school boards and postsecondary institutions that offer adult education and continuing education in English, as well as organizations representing broader perspectives within the adult education and continuing education ecosystem.
