Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the activities of the Provincial Employment Roundtable (“we”, “us”) and seeks to provide more details about our processing of personal information of participants in our studies (“you”).

Who are we?

The Provincial Employment Roundtable (PERT) is a non-profit multi-stakeholder initiative focused on addressing the employment and employability challenges facing Québec’s English-speaking community.

What type of data do we collect?

We may collect a broad range of data in our studies. Such data may include:

  • Name
  • Contact Information (Address, Phone Number, Email Address)
  • Demographic Information (Age, Gender, Family History, Language, Ethnicity)
  • Occupation, Work History

We may collect other types of data in specific studies. We collect data directly from participants in most cases. If personal data about you is collected from other sources, your consent will be sought specifically. 

How do we use personal data?

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To contact you about your participation in a study, possibly including winning an associated draw
  • To contact you about participating in additional studies
  • We use data provided during the study to perform analyses and to achieve study results.

Some risks may not be applicable to your situation depending on the study you are participating in.

Some questions may be personal or upsetting You can skip any questions you don’t want to answer.
If participating in a focus group, others in the focus group could share your responses We ask everyone to keep everything said during the focus group confidential. However, we cannot control what others say, so it is best not to share anything you don’t want others to know. You will not be compelled to provide any information in a focus group.
Breach of confidentiality (your data being seen by someone who should not have access to it)We use appropriate security measures to ensure that personal data is only accessed by persons who need to access the same for the purpose set forth in this policy.
Online data being hacked or intercepted This is a risk you experience any time you provide information online. We’re using a secure system to collect this data but we can’t completely eliminate this risk entirely.

Data Security

How will your data be stored?Data collected during our studies is stored on cloud-based storage operated by Google Cloud.
How is your data protected?Your personal data is hosted on servers operated by our hosting provider (Google Cloud) and is protected by security measures proportionate with the sensitivity of the data against unauthorized access. Our employees and researchers are informed of the confidential nature of personal data collected through the study and are made aware of the appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal data.
How long will your data be kept?We keep personal data for the duration of a study.
After a study is completed, we may anonymize your data by removing identifying information or replacing the same by an identification number or by aggregating data into statistical data not related to any specific individual.

Your rights about your data

Access your dataYou may request access to personal data that we hold about you. We will correct data that is erroneous.
Request deletion of your dataYou may request the deletion of your personal data that was collected without authorization.
Withdraw your consentYou may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data.
