Dear Members, Partners, and Trusted Stakeholders,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Provincial Employment Roundtable, I am writing to share an important leadership transition for our organization.

Before doing so, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Nicholas Salter for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to PERT over the past five years. As our inaugural Executive Director, Nicholas played a defining role in building the organization from the ground up. Under his leadership, PERT established itself as a trusted voice on employment issues affecting Québec’s English-speaking community, developed a strong policy and research capacity, forged lasting partnerships across sectors and levels of government, and helped secure significant investments that expanded opportunities for English-speaking Quebecers. The Board extends its deepest appreciation to Nicholas for the vision, dedication, and leadership that have laid a strong foundation for PERT’s future success. We wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.

Following an internal hiring search, the Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Sta Kuzviwanza as PERT’s incoming Executive Director, as Nicholas Salter departs from his role as our inaugural Executive Director.

Sta’s appointment as Executive Director reflects the success of an intentional internal hiring process designed to ensure organizational continuity and strong leadership for PERT’s next chapter.

Sta is a public policy specialist with nearly a decade of experience building research functions, driving government relations, and translating evidence into policy outcomes at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

Sta joined PERT in April 2021 as our inaugural Director of Policy & Research and was appointed Interim Executive Director in July 2023. In these roles, she built PERT’s research department from the ground up, managed multidisciplinary teams, and authored or oversaw more than 50 research reports and policy documents that established PERT as Canada’s primary research authority on employment among English-speaking Quebecers. Prior to joining PERT, Sta worked at Airbnb Canada, leading municipal and provincial regulatory strategies. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the Max Bell School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & African Studies from McGill University. 

Sta’s deep, first-hand knowledge of PERT’s mandate, funding partners, regional stakeholders, and staff positions her uniquely to lead the organization forward.

This executive transition coincides with an exciting period of strategic renewal for PERT. With Sta leading our dedicated team, PERT is exceptionally well-equipped to advance our research agenda, deepen our partner networks, and build an inclusive, vibrant labour market where all Quebecers can thrive.
